So, the “May not be genuine” nag is still an issue in this release, BUT I think it MIGHT be resolved by…
      Step 1: block all connections between the app and domain parallels.com with LittleSnitch etc. in MacOS;
Step 2: edit the HOSTS file in your VM to ALSO block connections to
      http://www.parallels.com,
      parallels.com,
      download.parallels.com, and
      desktop.parallels.com
… those are the domains that have shown up in my LittleSnitch rules.

Good luck to us all! If you’re going to leave comments about things working or not working, please remember to include details about your host OS version, rather than just saying “doesn’t work”.

          @Alex

You’re right, one shouldn’t include the http:// in a hosts file … it appears the comment form automatically parsed that in when I entered the www.

And to confirm, this is running W7 fine for me under Catalina (10.15.6) and I haven’t encountered a ‘genuine’ nag yet.

            Hello,
            I have done all steps:

            1) Disconnect the mac from the internet
            2) Run this before installing:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine (Image path)

            3) Install Parallels Desktop Business Edition v16.0.1-48919
            4) Set automatic updates to “never”
            5) Login to windows to:
5.1) Edit the HOSTS file in the VM to ALSO block connections to:

            # Parallels:
            0.0.0.0 http://www.parallels.com
            0.0.0.0 parallels.com
            0.0.0.0 download.parallels.com
            0.0.0.0 desktop.parallels.com

5.2) Update the “Parallels Tools” program without conection to internet

Everything is ok for a few hours until windows show this message:

This copy of Parallels Desktop may not be genuine. You may be a victim of software counterfeiting ….

Does anyone know how to avoid this message?

            Thank you.

I read an Article in an Parallels-Forum about the network issue.
In some rare exeptionelle Cases on certain Machines like my Mac Pro late 2013
The network failure occures in buyed and registered Versions of Parallels Desktop Business 16.0.0 + 16.0.1 in Big Sur Betas.
“Parallels Engineering Team are currently working on the resolution. We will let you know once any update will be available.”
      https://forum.parallels.com/threads/net … 647/page-3
It is not a bad crack by TNT.
I did everything possible to delete invisisible Files etc.

Unfortunately, despite my attempted workaround, I have experienced the genuine nag.

I will say that despite the occasional nag, the software seems to work.

The nag appears inconsistently – I wonder what’s triggering it?

V16.0.1 wont work on Big Sur, so don’t update to Big Sur if you are using V16.0.1.

Need to wait until crack copy of V16.1 is released here.

I have tested this new version and the nag windows (This copy of Parallels Desktop may not be genuine. You may be a victim of software counterfeiting ….) come back….

      Any idea to solve it?

Constant message asking me to restart my Mac to finish installing Parallels, despite having restarted the Mac 3 times. Doesn’t work.
