Not able to create a new document

Momentary solution closing application at startup:
– Disable network (remove cable or disable service in network preferences) or block outgoing connection with Little Snitch / Hands Off !!.
– Start the program.
– Activate network.
– Wait for them to solve the problem.

The application closes by itself each time I try to open it…
I try your solution, I disable network, I can open InDesign 2021 and it doesn’t close. I click on “Create a New Document” then it’s impossible to use it. There’s nothing in the window, it’s all grey.
(Sorry for my English Hahaa…)

This worked for me.
Let’s hope they can solve it soon.

You need to go the preferences menu, general and check the use legacy new document dialog. You can now create a new document!

I think it’s not so easy. The app crashes every time. I don’t believe I just need to check general system preferences to solve the problem…
And I don’t understand what you mean by “Use Legacy New Document Dialog” š

First you need to disconnect from the internet. Then, when the software finally opens, from the top menu go to InDesign, then Preferences, then General.
The second voice under the General panel is “Use Legacy New Document Dialog”. There is nothing to understand, you just need to check the box next to it, then click ok and you will finally be able to creat a new document.
The annoying part is that you have to disconnect from the internet all the time before launching InDesign. I tried blocking it in the firewall but it didn’t help. It looks like there is no solution about that yet. I cannot test little snitch or hands off because I have an M1 processor and their current version are not compatible with it.
Capish?

Thank you Tino.
I had enabled “Use Legacy New Document Dialog” and had blocked application using Radio Silence.
Now it looks good and working fine.

I’m also having the problem where Indesign crashes on launch unless the wifi is off. This is unworkable for me, so hopefully there is a workaround soon.
RE: Install error, I’ve updated the instructions to get around that:
1. Attention! Before installing, disconnect from the Internet
2. Mount the Adobe XXXX.dmg
3. Find the Install (located in the Extra folder)
ā Right Click > Show Package Contents
4. Navigate to Mac OS > Installer and run
5. Open system preferences > Security & Privacy
ā āAllowā and restart the install process how ever many times necessary.
6. After installation, do not run the program in trial mode (close the application forcibly if it starts up on its own)
7. Launch the Adobe Zii patch and drag the icon of the installed Adobe XXXX CC 2020 into the open patch window
ā Give Root permissions as necessary.
8. System Preferences > Extensions: Disable Core Sync.
9. In Finder > Go > Go to Folder > /Library/LaunchAgents/ and delete the CreativeCloud.plist
