Adobe Acrobat DC v20.013.20064 Multilingual macOS
All-new Adobe Acrobat Pro DC with Adobe Document Cloud services is here. Completely reimagined PDF tools let you create, edit, sign, and track PDFs from anywhere. It will change the way you work with design layouts, press-ready files, and all your important documents forever.
Clean feature lineup
The application allows you to write down comments and feedback using a separate frame in the right side of the window, while the reading space is not affected at all.
In fact, this is one of this tool’s strong points: the interface is quite clean, but still manages to provide a lot of tools for zooming, selecting text, printing, adding bookmarks and many others.
Supported file formats and fast searches
A great thing about Adobe Reader XI is its ability to work with CAD designs and geospatial maps converted to Portable Document Format. Also, in case you need to locate any element within a PDF file, the application offers a comprehensive file searching engine that finds what you need in a matter of seconds.
Security tools
The security functions enable you to view and work with PDF documents without having to worry about malicious code being executed on your machine. The ‘Protected Mode’ and the ‘Enhanced Security’ features are designed to safeguard your computer and provide data protection and privacy.
Configuration settings
When it comes to customizing Adobe Reader XI, the Preferences area will give you the possibility to modify a wide range of settings. Comments, 3D and multimedia, measuring and reading options are available, as well as spelling or page units configurations.
In case you find Adobe Reader XI too difficult to use, the application includes a comprehensive help manual. Unfortunately you will need an Internet connection to access it, which means you won’t be able to read the documentation in offline mode.
A top PDF viewer on the market
All things considered, with this software app you can’t get it wrong simply because it still sets the standards insofar as PDF documents are concerned. Adobe Reader XI really works as advertised and is the leading tool for viewing Portable Document Format files.

Does anybody know how to avoid Acrobat to self update?
After unchecking the setting inside the Acrobat preferences and pressed OK, Acrobat asks me to install an assistant on the Mac, and after I’ve allowed it, nothing more happens, but then when I open up the preferences panel again, the auto update setting happens to be checked as it was before.
It doesn’t matter how many times I try to uncheck the setting, it will keep the check on.
The facts is that when Adobe release an update, as it frequently happens, Acrobat silently updates itself, leading to a locked app and forcing me to uninstall and re-install the app all again – and Acrobat will work, until it updates itself due to the previously released updated made publicly by Adobe.
I’ve tried to change every privacy setting on the system preferences, but nothing seems to work.
I’m on macOS Catalina.
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks.

I kind of found a way to stop it from updating.
Navigate to
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ARMDC/Application
There will be ” Acrobat Update Helper ” and ” Adobe Acrobat Updater ”
Right click, Show Package Contents, Contents, MacOS.
Delete the file inside there. The updater would then cease to work.
By my experience, the first one doesn’t have a macOS file, hence you can ignore that, if there is, do the same.
Hope it helps.

Thank you Benedict.
You cannot imagine how I do appreciate your help.
When the next update will be released, I’ll keep in touch with you and tell if this worked (as I think it will).
Again, thank you.

you can use a free firewall control program called LULU to stop acrobat to reach its servers. IT will prevent it forever.

I am leaving the comment of the new post here too for posterity.
As follows:
Just to add on for the new version, since I went through a lot to get it working.
Seems like the patch doesn’t work nice with the deleting of files (at least on my side of things), I have revised the method in case the situation pops up again in the future.
Navigate to
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ARMDC/Application
There will be ” Acrobat Update Helper ” and ” Adobe Acrobat Updater ”
Right click, Show Package Contents, Contents, MacOS.
*Move the file to somewhere for safekeeping, and then delete the file inside the folder*
If the first one doesn’t have a macOS file, hence you can ignore that, if there is, do the same.
Lastly to check that this worked, open Acrobat, Help>Check For Updates, it should tell you that “An error occurred. Please check for updates again later. Error: 207”, then you are good to go.
As always, hope it helps.

Thank you Benedict it is very usefull info indeed.
The program is actually run in MacOS Big Sure too. For the ARMDC folder, simply write to folder name (ARMDC) in searching box, it ll take you directly to the folder where it is, sure search in macintosh HD.

Right-click Adobe Acrobat.app (In the applications folder, right-click adobe acrobat app, then click “show package contents”) go to “Contents” -> “Plugins” and delete or rename Updater.acroplugin.

This is my solution
Install acrobat and updaters.
Startup Acrobat and immediately press “cmd+,” repeatedly, the preference menù appear BEFORE the activation windows.
Uncheck “update”.
Quit
Apply the Adobe Zii.
